FIRST STEPS TO MAKING MONEY ON THE INTERNET?

After receiving the certificate for the course, “A True Beginner’s Guide to Setup an Online Business” , I revisited the course’s “Niche Sites” video, as recommended by the instructor (Carlton Bryant), and mentioned in his “A True Beginner’s Guide for How to Make Money Online“ (http://www.pideals.com/beginners-guide-on-how-to-make-money-online/) site.

Yes, disappointed that the course did not immediately catapult me into making money online, the instructor recommended creating a niche site as a first step towards that goal.

NICHE WEBSITE VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS

In the course video, the instructor discusses niche websites. We watch as he opens a link to a successful sports site. Site stories feature niche products that spur readers to click and purchase. The site profits with product affiliate links.

BUT HOW?

Unfortunately, viewing the site and hearing the recommendations, left me unable to take it from there and go out and create such a site. As a student, I need to watch the actual building of such a site – a full demonstration, stepping through locating products, adding them to our WordPress site, creating affiliates, creating SEO, creating content, adding links and ads – step-by-step from beginning to the end. Viewing the course instructions left me at the point of wanting to do it but not sure how to do it.

In future courses, I hope the instructor takes students to actual creating an affiliate site – to the point that we can make our first dollar online.

I am registered  for Udemy Affiliate courses and need to pursue them soon.

However, course materials are there as a reference, thus I can fall back on them and niche ideas in the future.

MY PROGRESS? (STEPS TAKEN SINCE THE COURSE)

I am not sure if “progress” is the correct word as I have yet to make money online. Will the steps taken after the course be, upon looking back, true “progress”? Thus, I re-word from “progress” to “steps taken“.

Below are the STEPS TAKEN since the course.

• ADDED HOSTGATOR AFFILIATE

  Placed HostGator’s affiliate ad on my main site, “A1 Resource WP Network“

• SIGNED UP TO BECOME A UDEMY AFFILIATE

  Carlton agreed becoming an Udemy affiliate, may be a start, but added, until the site has more content and traffic, it may take awhile before affiliate commissions come through.

  Today, I signed up, through a Udemy Affiliate redirect link (Rakuten Affiliate Network / Linkshare)  to become an affiliate. I hesitated when viewing the application. They require personal information per IRS requirements. Apparently, it takes a few days to hear if the application is accepted by Udemy.  Look forward to an update if this site is accepted.

  Rakuten Affiliate Network has an abundance of affiliate-seeking companies taking applications.

• IDEA FOR AMAZON AFFILIATE SITE

  I applied to become an Amazon Affiliate.

  After discovering and becoming enamored with a relatively new Amazon product, I registered a related domain name. But, how to start the affiliate site? In a Google search found there are so many sites with this product. I already subscribe to an excellent one. How can my site be unique enough to attract visitors and to compete? The domain name is excellent but what to include on the site? Will I be accepted as an Amazon Affiliate?

• REVIVE A MONEY MAKING IDEA – DOMAIN AND HOSTING RESALE

  As a domain and hosting reseller (Strike It Rich Domains), I hope to bring that site back to life and find a way to generate content and thus traffic.

• SELL A DOMAIN NAME AND SITE AT FLIPPA

  Learn how to sell a domain name and website at Flippa.  I have heard that is a good place to try to sell domains. My domains for sale are at Godaddy’s Auction site but have never sold. I need to learn how to create and resell a website.

• LEARN CONFIGURATION OF ADDITIONAL DOMAINS TO HOSTGATOR ACCOUNT

  Learn how to configure GoDaddy domains hosted at HostGator. I watched YouTube videos on how to add other domains to my HostGator account. After watching YouTube videos, I successfully added a domain to HostGator and installed WordPress.
